Mayoral Proclamation - Jed Mescon Day

Whereas:

The City of Chattanooga wishes to honor those distinguished individuals who have dedicated their lives and talents to serving their community, their faith, and their family; and

 

Whereas:

The purpose of this proclamation is to recognize the efforts of Mr. Jed Mescon for being a tireless supporter and cheerleader of Adult Education: and

 

Whereas:

For many years, Mr. Mescon has given his time freely to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the General Education Development (GED®) graduation, promote adult education classes, give motivational speeches to students, and to raise money for GED® scholarships; and

 

Whereas:

Mr. Mescon's passionate efforts have greatly benefited both Re:Start's and Chattanooga State's Adult Education Programs, GED® students and graduates; and

 

Whereas:

Mr. Mescon's efforts are worthy of praise, honor, and recognition

Now Therefore

Ron Littlefield, Mayor of the City of Chattanooga, does hereby Proclaim December 11, 2011 as

Jed Mescon Day

Re:Start hosts "Give Back" Night at Brainerd Chili's

On March 8, from 4 - 11 pm, the Brainerd location of Chili's Grill & Bar is teaming up with Re:Start - The Center for Adult Education to invest in Re:Start's GED® scholarship fund. Patrons who bring in a flyer will see 10% of their bill donated to helping students in financial need to reach their goal of earning a high school equivalency diploma.
