RE:START – The Center for Adult Education is excited to host a Mom’s Club Spring Baby Shower for all new mothers who have completed the RE:START - Baby Basics program. The shower will be held Wednesday April 8th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room of the Massoud Building, which are the pediatric clinics attached to the T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital.
Mothers who have completed the RE:START - Baby Basics program are invited to attend the shower and bring their babies to this exciting celebration. In addition, a Mom’s Club will be going on across the hall. Any and all pregnant women are invited to participate, regardless of the stage of their pregnancy.
The RE: START - Baby Basics program combines prenatal health education with appropriate literacy training and community support for expectant mothers. Using an adapted version of the book, What to Expect When You’re Expecting as the core curriculum, the overall goal of this program is to provide quality and effective prenatal health education to women with low health and literacy levels. To date, 48 women have delivered healthy babies upon completion of RE:START’s program.
The mission of RE:START – The Center of Adult Education is to improve quality of life through adult education. We are the state of Tennessee’s oldest adult education provider and offer free classes in the areas of General Educational Development (GED®) preparation and Health Literacy.
